After the Roman Empire fell, Israel was invaded by a series of Muslim armies. These armies conquered all of Palestine, including the city of Jerusalem. The Muslims ruled over Jerusalem for centuries, and during this time, the city became an important center of Islamic culture and learning.
In 1948, the state of Israel was founded. This event marked the end of centuries of Muslim rule in Palestine. Israel has since been involved in a number of wars with its Arab neighbors, but it has managed to maintain its independence. Today, Israel is a sovereign nation with a vibrant culture and a rich history.
